Perimenopause & Menopause
When You No Longer Feel Like Yourself
Perimenopause and menopause can be a significant period of physical, emotional and psychological change. Alongside symptoms such as anxiety, low mood, sleep difficulties and brain fog, you may find yourself questioning your identity, relationships, confidence or sense of self.
You may feel unlike yourself, overwhelmed by changes in your body, or unsure of who you are becoming. Perhaps you have spent years caring for others and are now wondering where you fit within your own life. These experiences are common, but that does not make them any less difficult.
How Therapy Can Help
Therapy provides a space to explore the emotional and psychological impact of this transition without judgement. Together, we can explore identity, self-esteem, relationships, body image, changing roles and the expectations that can influence how women feel about themselves during this stage of life.
This is not about simply "getting through" menopause. It can also be an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, consider what you want for the next stage of your life and discover new possibilities.
How Creativity Can Help
Creative expression can offer a powerful way to explore feelings, identity and changes in how you see yourself. Through images, colour, writing or other creative approaches, you can explore experiences that may be difficult to put into words.
There is no need to be artistic. The focus is on the process and what it means to you, rather than creating something that looks good.
What You Can Expect
You can expect a warm, supportive and confidential space where your experiences are taken seriously. My aim is to help you feel heard, understood and less alone, while supporting you to reconnect with your sense of self and move towards a more fulfilling next chapter.
